Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In June 2018, 347,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Halland County (+6.4 %), of which 305,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 42,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased one percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (17,200 nights).

23,600 rooms (-8.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 25,900 rooms (-1.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 877,000 registered bed nights (+2.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 116,000 (+10.8 %) for foreigners in Halland County, in total 993,000 (+3.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 6.6 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.7 million nights (+2.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.0 million nights (+4.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Halland County out of total registered bed nights was 5.2 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 6.6 % and foreign bed nights 2.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Halland County, length of stay in June was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+0.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halland County on average 2.1 nights (+1.4 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+7.7 %).

159,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.3 percent were domestic, and 10.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halland County on average 2.1 nights (-0.01) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.12).
