Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased two percent

In August 2018, 463,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Halland County (+1.9 %), of which 401,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 62,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased three percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased three percent. In total, registered bed nights increased two percent from last year's August.

29,300 rooms (-11.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 34,000 rooms (+23.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 2.0 million registered bed nights (+3.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 295,000 (+7.1 %) for foreigners in Halland County, in total 2.3 million (+4.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.6 million registered bed nights (-0.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.9 million nights (-1.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.7 million nights (+1.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Halland County out of total registered bed nights was 5.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 6.8 % and foreign bed nights 2.3 %.

Length of stay was 2.4 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Halland County, length of stay in August was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-1.9 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halland County on average 2.3 nights (+0.3 %) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+2.6 %).

195,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.2 percent were domestic, and 11.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halland County on average 2.3 nights (-0.01) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+0.05).
