194,000 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 194,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Halland County (-30.8 %), of which 188,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 26 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 76 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 31 percent from last year's May.

15,000 rooms (-50.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,600 rooms (-64.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 471,000 registered bed nights (-21.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 29,900 (-55.4 %) for foreigners in Halland County, in total 501,000 (-24.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.2 million registered bed nights (-58.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.1 million nights (-49.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 176,000 nights (-86.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Halland County out of total registered bed nights was 8.7 % (+3.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 9.1 % and foreign bed nights 3.3 %.

Length of stay increased 26 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 26 percent compared to earlier year. In Halland County, length of stay in May was on average 2.5 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+30.7 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halland County on average 2.4 nights (+7.6 %) and foreigners 3.5 nights (+2.4 %).

78,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 45 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.9 percent were domestic, and 2.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halland County on average 2.4 nights (+0.54) and foreigners 3.5 nights (+0.77).
