Registered bed nights increased 13 percent

In August 2022, 122,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Hallingdal (+12.7 %), of which 88,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 33,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 11 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 270 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 13 percent from last year's August.

45,800 nights (-0.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,200 nights (+72.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 633,000 registered bed nights (+5.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 342,000 (+1,491.1 %) for foreigners in Hallingdal, in total 975,000 (+57.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.4 percent

Total of 5.2 million registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (-8.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.9 million nights (+129.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Hallingdal out of total registered bed nights was 2.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.7 % and foreign bed nights 1.8 %.

59,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 14 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 65.2 percent were domestic, and 34.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hallingdal on average 2.3 nights (+0.14) and foreigners 1.6 nights (+0.12).
