126,000 registered bed nights

In February 2023, 126,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Hallingdal (-19.3 %), of which 69,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 56,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased five percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 32 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 19 percent from last year's February.

57,500 nights (+12.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,600 nights (+5.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 124,000 registered bed nights (+1.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 96,000 (-30.9 %) for foreigners in Hallingdal, in total 220,000 (-15.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 6.0 percent

Total of 2.1 million registered bed nights (+18.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.5 million nights (+17.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 577,000 nights (+23.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Hallingdal out of total registered bed nights was 6.0 % (-2.8 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.5 % and foreign bed nights 9.8 %.

Length of stay was 2.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 31 percent compared to earlier year. In Hallingdal, length of stay in February was on average 2.6 nights and in Norway 2.0 nights (-9.6 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hallingdal on average 2.2 nights (-26.3 %) and foreigners 3.5 nights (-25.9 %).

47,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 18 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 66.0 percent were domestic, and 34.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hallingdal on average 2.2 nights (-0.83) and foreigners 3.5 nights (-1.6).
