Registered bed nights increased 157 percent

In January 2022, 105,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Hallingdal (+157.4 %), of which 49,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 56,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 4,700 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 157 percent from last year's January.

19,300 nights (+26.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,700 nights (+11.1 %) by business visitors.

Total of 1.2 million registered bed nights (+51.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 888,000 nights (+35.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 292,000 nights (+132.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Hallingdal out of total registered bed nights was 8.9 % (+3.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.5 % and foreign bed nights 19.3 %.

Length of stay increased three percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. In Hallingdal, length of stay in January was on average 3.8 nights and in Norway 2.3 nights (-17.7 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hallingdal on average 3.1 nights and foreigners 4.7 nights .

27,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 150 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 57.2 percent were domestic, and 42.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hallingdal on average 3.1 nights (-0.56) and foreigners 4.7 nights (-0.75).
