Registered bed nights increased 129 percent

In December 2021, 28,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Halmstad (+129.3 %), of which 26,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 129 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 135 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 129 percent from last year's December.

7,200 rooms (+172.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,000 rooms (+141.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 723,000 registered bed nights (+18.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 38,000 (+21.5 %) for foreigners in Halmstad, in total 761,000 (+18.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+85.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+74.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 553,000 nights (+166.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Halmstad out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

14,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 147 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.2 percent were domestic, and 5.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halmstad on average 1.9 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-2.2).
