201,000 registered bed nights

In July 2020, 201,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Halmstad (-17.6 %), of which 193,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 11 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 70 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 18 percent from last year's July.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (700 nights).

23,600 rooms (+6.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,400 rooms (-48.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 408,000 registered bed nights (-12.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,100 (-62.2 %) for foreigners in Halmstad, in total 427,000 (-17.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 9.4 million registered bed nights (-30.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 8.8 million nights (-5.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 551,000 nights (-86.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Halmstad out of total registered bed nights was 2.1 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.2 % and foreign bed nights 1.4 %.

Length of stay was 2.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Halmstad, length of stay in July was on average 2.6 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-0.2 %).

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halmstad on average 2.6 nights (+3.1 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+4.0 %).

78,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.4 percent were domestic, and 4.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halmstad on average 2.6 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 2.1 nights (0.0).
