34,400 registered bed nights

In October 2020, 34,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Halmstad (-5.0 %), of which 32,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased one percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 41 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased five percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (690 nights).

9,000 rooms (-3.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 9,300 rooms (-18.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 587,000 registered bed nights (-6.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 29,300 (-59.0 %) for foreigners in Halmstad, in total 616,000 (-12.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-23.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-15.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 450,000 nights (-51.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Halmstad out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 1.7 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Halmstad, length of stay in October was on average 1.7 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+7.5 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halmstad on average 1.7 nights (+1.9 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+6.9 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.4 percent were domestic, and 4.6 percent were from foreign countries.
