Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 33 percent

In May 2021, 64,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Halmstad (+32.9 %), of which 63,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 34 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased six percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 33 percent from last year's May.

7,600 rooms (+88.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,500 rooms (+95.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 144,000 registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,600 (-37.7 %) for foreigners in Halmstad, in total 150,000 (+2.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.0 percent

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Halmstad out of total registered bed nights was 2.0 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased eight percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Halmstad, length of stay in May was on average 2.5 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halmstad on average 2.5 nights (+27.8 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+58.9 %).

25,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 23 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.1 percent were domestic, and 1.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halmstad on average 2.5 nights (+0.19) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.33).
