Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 72 percent

In April 2022, 53,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Halmstad (+72.2 %), of which 49,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 68 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 152 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 72 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (1,500 nights).

11,500 rooms (+88.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 13,000 rooms (+104.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 135,000 registered bed nights (+66.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 9,400 (+115.2 %) for foreigners in Halmstad, in total 145,000 (+69.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.3 percent

Total of 4.2 million registered bed nights (+64.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+46.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 791,000 nights (+260.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Halmstad out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 22 percent compared to earlier year. In Halmstad, length of stay in April was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-23.8 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halmstad on average 1.9 nights (-15.1 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-53.4 %).

27,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 120 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.9 percent were domestic, and 8.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Halmstad on average 1.9 nights (-0.47) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-1.9).
