Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased four percent

In February 2019, 14,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Hämeenlinna Region (+4.3 %), of which 12,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased five percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's February.

8,400 nights (+8.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,600 nights (-1.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 24,100 registered bed nights (+9.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,300 (+9.3 %) for foreigners in Hämeenlinna Region, in total 27,400 (+9.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 1.7 million registered bed nights (+2.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (+3.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 604,000 nights (+0.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Hämeenlinna Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 1.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Hämeenlinna Region, length of stay in February was on average 1.3 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-1.3 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hämeenlinna Region on average 1.3 nights (+0.1 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-13.3 %).

10,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.2 percent were domestic, and 6.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hämeenlinna Region on average 1.3 nights (-0.01) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.44).
