Hämeenlinna: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased 15 percent
In January 2019, 12,000 bed nights were recorded in Hämeenlinna (+14.9 %), of which 10,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,400 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 18 percent and foreign bed nights decreased five percent. In total, bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's January.
6,300 nights (+23.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,600 nights (+7.0 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.5 million bed nights (+1.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 869,000 nights (+1.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 675,000 nights (+0.6 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Hämeenlinna out of total bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.
9,100 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 92.2 percent were domestic, and 7.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hämeenlinna on average 1.3 nights (+0.02) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.27).
