Registered bed nights increased 18 percent

In February 2020, 15,700 bed nights were recorded in Hämeenlinna (+18.4 %), of which 14,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 20 percent and foreign bed nights decreased three percent. In total, bed nights increased 18 percent from last year's February.

8,500 nights (+3.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 7,200 nights (+42.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 25,200 bed nights (+11.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,100 (-15.4 %) for foreigners in Hämeenlinna, in total 27,400 (+8.5 %) nights.

Total of 1.9 million bed nights (+7.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+10.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 611,000 nights (+1.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Hämeenlinna out of total bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

11,800 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 95.8 percent were domestic, and 4.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hämeenlinna on average 1.3 nights (0.0) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.55).
