Registered bed nights increased two percent

In April 2019, 14,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Hämeenlinna (+1.7 %), of which 13,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 840 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 27 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased two percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (120 nights).

7,600 nights (+12.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,400 nights (-9.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 49,900 registered bed nights (+10.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,400 (-12.0 %) for foreigners in Hämeenlinna, in total 54,300 (+7.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+2.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+4.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 356,000 nights (-3.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Hämeenlinna out of total registered bed nights was 0.9 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

10,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.9 percent were domestic, and 4.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hämeenlinna on average 1.3 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.14).
