Registered bed nights increased 15 percent

In June 2021, 5,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Haparanda (+15.2 %), of which 4,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 740 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 79 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (143 nights).

910 rooms (+114.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,300 rooms (+4.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 20,900 registered bed nights (+5.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,900 (-49.3 %) for foreigners in Haparanda, in total 24,700 (-9.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.1 percent

Total of 4.9 million registered bed nights (+34.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.5 million nights (+31.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 456,000 nights (+76.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Haparanda out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

2,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.4 percent were domestic, and 14.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Haparanda on average 2.2 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.51).
