Registered bed nights increased 103 percent (April)

In April 2021, 4,600 bed nights were recorded in Haparanda (+102.7 %), of which 4,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 640 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 100 percent and foreign bed nights increased 121 percent. In total, bed nights increased 103 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Finland (132 nights).

950 rooms (+481.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,800 rooms (+79.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 12,800 bed nights (-4.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,500 (-64.6 %) for foreigners in Haparanda, in total 15,300 (-24.8 %) nights.

Total of 2.6 million bed nights (+99.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.4 million nights (+99.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 232,000 nights (+98.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Haparanda out of total bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

1,500 tourists arrived to accommodation (April)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 200 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 83.0 percent were domestic, and 17.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Haparanda on average 3.1 nights (-1.4) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-2.0).
