Registered bed nights increased 18 percent (September)

In September 2022, 8,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Haparanda (+18.5 %), of which 6,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 82 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 18 percent from last year's September.

2,800 rooms (+30.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,000 rooms (+31.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 66,100 registered bed nights (+34.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 28,300 (+241.3 %) for foreigners in Haparanda, in total 94,500 (+64.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.6 million registered bed nights (+12.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (+7.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 964,000 nights (+33.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Haparanda out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

4,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (September)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 31 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 78.4 percent were domestic, and 21.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Haparanda on average 1.9 nights (-0.27) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.13).
