Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 91 percent

In April 2021, 4,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Haparanda (+90.5 %), of which 3,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 83 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 144 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 91 percent from last year's April.

960 rooms (+484.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,800 rooms (+78.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 11,900 registered bed nights (-10.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,500 (-63.9 %) for foreigners in Haparanda, in total 14,500 (-28.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 219,000 nights (+91.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Haparanda out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 2.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 43 percent compared to earlier year. In Haparanda, length of stay in April was on average 2.6 nights and in Sweden 2.5 nights (+1.3 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Haparanda on average 2.7 nights (+47.0 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+31.1 %).

1,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 230 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.0 percent were domestic, and 20.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Haparanda on average 2.7 nights (-1.8) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-2.3).
