Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 35 percent

In September 2022, 9,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Haparanda (+34.6 %), of which 6,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 166 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 35 percent from last year's September.

3,300 rooms (+51.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,300 rooms (+50.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 66,700 registered bed nights (+35.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 29,200 (+252.3 %) for foreigners in Haparanda, in total 95,900 (+66.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.6 million registered bed nights (+13.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (+8.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 980,000 nights (+35.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Haparanda out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Haparanda, length of stay in September was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-5.9 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Haparanda on average 2.2 nights (+1.3 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.1 %).

4,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 29 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 71.9 percent were domestic, and 28.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Haparanda on average 2.2 nights (+0.01) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.4).
