Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 350 percent

In April 2021, 6,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Hardanger (+345.9 %), of which 6,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 430 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 370 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 142 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 350 percent from last year's April.

1,700 nights (+348.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 290 nights (-69.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 24,200 registered bed nights (+75.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,600 (-10.6 %) for foreigners in Hardanger, in total 25,800 (+65.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 883,000 registered bed nights (+166.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 788,000 nights (+184.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 94,300 nights (+75.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Hardanger out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay increased 29 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 29 percent compared to earlier year. In Hardanger, length of stay in April was on average 3.2 nights and in Norway 2.8 nights (-3.0 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hardanger on average 3.0 nights (+63.9 %) and foreigners 8.6 nights (+236.7 %).

2,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 240 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.6 percent were domestic, and 2.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hardanger on average 3.0 nights (+0.71) and foreigners 8.6 nights (+4.6).
