Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 174 percent

In March 2022, 19,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Hardanger (+173.7 %), of which 17,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 151 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 610 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 174 percent from last year's March.

10,100 nights (+298.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,800 nights (+284.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 32,500 registered bed nights (+81.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,800 (+224.8 %) for foreigners in Hardanger, in total 36,300 (+90.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.3 million registered bed nights (+142.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (+110.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 507,000 nights (+443.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Hardanger out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 36 percent compared to earlier year. In Hardanger, length of stay in March was on average 2.2 nights and in Norway 2.1 nights (-23.5 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hardanger on average 2.1 nights (-37.7 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-57.0 %).

9,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 330 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.1 percent were domestic, and 11.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Hardanger on average 2.1 nights (-1.2) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-2.7).
