Heinola Region: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased 50 percent
In February 2022, 13,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Heinola Region (+50.0 %), of which 12,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 230 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 49 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 104 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 50 percent from last year's February.
11,700 nights (+47.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,300 nights (+76.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 20,400 registered bed nights (+33.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 420 (+26.0 %) for foreigners in Heinola Region, in total 20,800 (+33.2 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.
Registered bed nights increased 54 percent (Heinola)
In February 2022, 12,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Heinola (+53.6 %), of which 12,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 210 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 53 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 93 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 54 percent from last year's February.
11,500 nights (+50.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,300 nights (+92.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 20,000 registered bed nights (+36.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 370 (+15.9 %) for foreigners in Heinola, in total 20,400 (+36.0 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 98 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.7 percent were domestic, and 2.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Heinola Region on average 2.0 nights (-0.68) and foreigners 1.5 nights (+0.46).
