Heinola Region: Tourism in a nutshell

Registered bed nights increased 29 percent
In June 2021, 20,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Heinola Region (+28.5 %), of which 20,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 119 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 29 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 13 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 29 percent from last year's June.
20,000 nights (+52.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 840 nights (-73.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 58,300 registered bed nights (+3.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 820 (-80.4 %) for foreigners in Heinola Region, in total 59,100 (-2.6 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.
Registered bed nights increased 51 percent (Heinola)
In June 2021, 16,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Heinola (+51.4 %), of which 16,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 87 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 52 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 19 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 51 percent from last year's June.
16,000 nights (+101.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 720 nights (-76.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 50,200 registered bed nights were recorded for domestic visitors and 760 for foreigners in Heinola, in total 50,900 registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 49 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.2 percent were domestic, and 0.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Heinola Region on average 2.0 nights (-0.31) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.57).
