74,400 registered bed nights

In August 2022, 74,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Helgeland (-22.3 %), of which 50,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 24,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 33 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 22 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (10,900 nights).

19,600 nights (-27.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 16,300 nights (-2.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 265,000 registered bed nights (-28.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 119,000 (+171.5 %) for foreigners in Helgeland, in total 385,000 (-6.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.4 percent

Total of 5.2 million registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (-8.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.9 million nights (+129.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Helgeland out of total registered bed nights was 1.4 % (-0.8 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

46,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 22 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 68.5 percent were domestic, and 31.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helgeland on average 1.6 nights (+0.04) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.26).
