Registered bed nights increased 27 percent

In February 2022, 18,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Helgeland (+26.5 %), of which 16,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 24 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 64 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 27 percent from last year's February.

5,100 nights (+78.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,600 nights (+8.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 29,900 registered bed nights (+12.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,600 (+45.2 %) for foreigners in Helgeland, in total 33,500 (+15.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.0 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+92.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+56.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 466,000 nights (+432.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Helgeland out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (-0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

8,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 34 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.9 percent were domestic, and 9.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helgeland on average 2.0 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.9).

Registered accommodation sales in February were 12.0 million crowns (+2.1 million).

Registered January-February sales were 20.9 million crowns and they increased 1.0 million euro from the previous year.
