Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 11 percent

In March 2023, 26,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Helgeland (+10.9 %), of which 22,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 18 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 11 percent from last year's March.

8,200 nights (+18.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 11,800 nights (+7.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 55,200 registered bed nights (+8.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,200 (+30.2 %) for foreigners in Helgeland, in total 63,500 (+11.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.1 percent

Total of 2.4 million registered bed nights (+2.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (+0.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 554,000 nights (+9.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Helgeland out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. In Helgeland, length of stay in March was on average 1.8 nights and in Norway 2.0 nights (-6.1 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helgeland on average 1.7 nights (-10.2 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+11.4 %).

14,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.3 percent were domestic, and 7.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helgeland on average 1.7 nights (-0.15) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+0.83).
