Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In September 2019, 65,300 bed nights were recorded in Helsingborg (+9.0 %), of which 46,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 18,900 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased less than one percent and foreign bed nights increased 39 percent. In total, bed nights increased nine percent from last year's September.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (1,700 nights).

21,200 rooms (+31.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 19,900 rooms (+7.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 501,000 bed nights (+2.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 139,000 (-5.2 %) for foreigners in Helsingborg, in total 640,000 (+0.8 %) nights.

Market share 1.4 percent

Total of 4.5 million bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Helsingborg out of total bed nights was 1.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.4 % and foreign bed nights 1.6 %.

34,100 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 75.6 percent were domestic, and 24.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helsingborg on average 1.8 nights (+0.14) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.24).
