26,800 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 26,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Helsingborg (-61.2 %), of which 23,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 58 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 73 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 61 percent from last year's May.

6,500 rooms (-64.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,200 rooms (-71.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 131,000 registered bed nights (-33.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 30,600 (-40.6 %) for foreigners in Helsingborg, in total 162,000 (-35.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.2 million registered bed nights (-58.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.1 million nights (-49.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 176,000 nights (-86.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Helsingborg out of total registered bed nights was 1.2 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 2.1 %.

Length of stay increased 64 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 64 percent compared to earlier year. In Helsingborg, length of stay in May was on average 3.1 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+30.7 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helsingborg on average 3.1 nights (+18.4 %) and foreigners 3.6 nights (+6.2 %).

8,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 76 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.1 percent were domestic, and 11.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helsingborg on average 3.1 nights (+1.2) and foreigners 3.6 nights (+1.6).
