Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 56 percent

In May 2021, 41,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Helsingborg (+55.6 %), of which 37,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 60 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 29 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 56 percent from last year's May.

12,900 rooms (+99.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,200 rooms (+37.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 129,000 registered bed nights (-1.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,200 (-37.1 %) for foreigners in Helsingborg, in total 148,000 (-8.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Helsingborg out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 1.6 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 32 percent compared to earlier year. In Helsingborg, length of stay in May was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helsingborg on average 2.0 nights (-7.5 %) and foreigners 4.6 nights (+81.4 %).

19,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 131 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.9 percent were domestic, and 5.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helsingborg on average 2.0 nights (-1.1) and foreigners 4.6 nights (+1.1).
