Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 30 percent

In August 2021, 102,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Helsingborg (+30.2 %), of which 80,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 21,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 151 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 30 percent from last year's August.

27,800 rooms (+23.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 12,800 rooms (+59.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 390,000 registered bed nights (+10.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 74,300 (+38.7 %) for foreigners in Helsingborg, in total 464,000 (+14.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.2 percent

Total of 8.4 million registered bed nights (+39.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.8 million nights (+25.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+160.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Helsingborg out of total registered bed nights was 1.2 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 1.4 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Helsingborg, length of stay in August was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-3.6 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helsingborg on average 2.2 nights (-3.8 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+15.8 %).

45,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 43 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.3 percent were domestic, and 19.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helsingborg on average 2.2 nights (-0.32) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+0.33).
