Registered bed nights increased 145 percent
In April 2021, 112,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Helsinki Metropolitan Area (+145.4 %), of which 85,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 26,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 122 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 270 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 145 percent from last year's April.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (4,100 nights).
39,200 nights (+233.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 73,100 nights (+115.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 359,000 registered bed nights (-44.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 89,900 (-80.4 %) for foreigners in Helsinki Metropolitan Area, in total 449,000 (-59.5 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

45,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 280 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 83.7 percent were domestic, and 16.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Helsinki Metropolitan Area on average 2.3 nights (-1.5) and foreigners 3.6 nights (-0.94).

Accommodation sales 6.1 million euro
Registered accommodation sales in April were 6.1 million euro (+4.0 million).
Registered January-April sales were 23.9 million euro and they decreased 53.8 million euro from the previous year.
