Registered bed nights increased 29 percent
In January 2018, 5,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Iisalmi (+29.0 %), of which 5,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 680 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 28 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 35 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 29 percent from last year's January.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (380 nights).
3,200 nights (+12.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,700 nights (+56.0 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 10 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Iisalmi, length of stay in January was on average 1.9 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-0.3 %).
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Iisalmi on average 1.8 nights and foreigners 3.4 nights .

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.5 percent were domestic, and 6.5 percent were from foreign countries.
