Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 50 percent

In March 2022, 5,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Iisalmi (+50.1 %), of which 5,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 55 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 12 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 50 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (30 nights).

3,200 nights (+111.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,000 nights (+3.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 11,000 registered bed nights (+51.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 650 (+17.6 %) for foreigners in Iisalmi, in total 11,700 (+49.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+104.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+69.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 379,000 nights (+703.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Iisalmi out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 17 percent compared to earlier year. In Iisalmi, length of stay in March was on average 1.6 nights and in Finland 2.2 nights (-18.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Iisalmi on average 1.5 nights (-4.1 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-28.9 %).

3,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 82 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.9 percent were domestic, and 2.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Iisalmi on average 1.5 nights (-0.26) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-5.4).
