Imatra Region: Tourism in a nutshell
15,900 registered bed nights (October)
In October 2020, 15,900 bed nights were recorded in Imatra Region (-24.7 %), of which 14,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,400 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 11 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 83 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 25 percent from last year's October.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (340 nights).
12,700 nights (-30.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,200 nights (+14.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and October, 111,000 bed nights (-12.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 30,000 (-65.4 %) for foreigners in Imatra Region, in total 141,000 (-33.8 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 40 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 91.8 percent were domestic, and 8.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Imatra Region on average 2.2 nights (+0.31) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.73).

The number of foreign visitors in October was 11,600 (-88.4 %). Out of them 10,100 were on a daytrip and 1,500 stayed at least for one night.
The cumulative number of foreign visitors between January and October was 253,000 (-57.9 %).
Total consumption of these visitors in Imatra Region in October was 1.9 million euro (163 per visitor). Overnight visitors spent 297,000 euro and day visitors 1.6 million euro. Between January and October the consumption was 41.3 million euro.
