Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In September 2021, 14,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Imatra (+9.0 %), of which 13,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 630 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased six percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 185 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's September.

6,400 nights (-26.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 8,000 nights (+79.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 110,000 registered bed nights (+27.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,300 (-91.7 %) for foreigners in Imatra, in total 113,000 (-1.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.9 percent

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+29.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+21.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 204,000 nights (+121.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Imatra out of total registered bed nights was 0.9 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

8,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 32 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.7 percent were domestic, and 3.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Imatra on average 1.8 nights (-0.38) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-3.8).

Ferry arrivals from different harbors

Trips by Russian travelers over the eastern border increased 40 percent

A total of 33,400 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.

There was a total of 2,200 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 52.3 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.

Accommodation sales 809,000 euro

Registered accommodation sales in September were 809,000 euro (+46,500).

Registered January-September sales were 5.4 million euro and they increased 302,000 euro from the previous year.
