Registered bed nights increased 20 percent
In January 2022, 5,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Imatra (+19.7 %), of which 5,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 350 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 420 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 20 percent from last year's January.
4,200 nights (+3.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,700 nights (+98.8 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

3,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 24 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.0 percent were domestic, and 5.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Imatra on average 1.8 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.26).

Trips by Russian travelers over the eastern border increased 47 percent
A total of 34,500 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.
The share of southeastern border stations was 74.3 percent.
