Imatra: Tourism in a nutshell
16,600 registered bed nights
In January 2019, 16,600 bed nights were recorded in Imatra (-1.3 %), of which 5,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 50 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 16 percent. In total, bed nights decreased one percent from last year's January.
14,600 nights (-7.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,100 nights (+76.3 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.5 million bed nights (+1.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 869,000 nights (+1.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 675,000 nights (+0.6 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Imatra out of total bed nights was 1.1 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 1.6 %.
8,400 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 37.7 percent were domestic, and 62.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Imatra on average 1.8 nights (+0.15) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.01).

262,000 Russian travelers via eastern border
A total of 262,000 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.
The share of southeastern border stations was 80.1 percent.
