Registered bed nights increased 69 percent

In May 2022, 11,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Imatra (+69.0 %), of which 11,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 590 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 64 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 290 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 69 percent from last year's May.

6,800 nights (+39.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,800 nights (+142.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 52,700 registered bed nights (+68.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,000 (+372.1 %) for foreigners in Imatra, in total 54,800 (+72.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 1.5 million registered bed nights (+82.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+57.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 319,000 nights (+345.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Imatra out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

7,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 83 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.9 percent were domestic, and 4.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Imatra on average 1.6 nights (-0.15) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.12).

Trips by Russian travelers over the eastern border increased 36 percent

A total of 32,800 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.

The share of southeastern border stations was 76.2 percent.
