Registered bed nights increased 10 percent

In Jan–Dec 2018, 213,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Imatra (+9.9 %), of which 113,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 99,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased six percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 10 percent from last year's Jan–Dec.

183,000 nights (+9.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 29,200 nights (+12.0 %) by business visitors.

Total of 22.2 million registered bed nights (+1.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 15.4 million nights (+1.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 6.8 million nights (+1.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Imatra out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 1.5 %.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Imatra, length of stay in Jan–Dec was on average 1.9 nights and in Finland 1.9 nights (+0.0 %).

During Jan–Dec, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Imatra on average 1.9 nights and foreigners 1.8 nights .

114,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 52.4 percent were domestic, and 47.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During Jan–Dec, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Imatra on average 1.9 nights (+0.05) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+0.07).
