Registered bed nights increased one percent
In December 2019, 16,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Imatra (+0.8 %), of which 8,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 8,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 12 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased one percent from last year's December.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (7,300 nights).
14,600 nights (-0.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,900 nights (+11.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 128,000 registered bed nights (+13.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 99,100 (-0.3 %) for foreigners in Imatra, in total 227,000 (+7.0 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. In Imatra, length of stay in December was on average 1.7 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+1.9 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Imatra on average 1.7 nights (-1.6 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-3.0 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 49.7 percent were domestic, and 50.3 percent were from foreign countries.
