Registered bed nights increased 14 percent
In February 2020, 18,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Imatra (+14.3 %), of which 10,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 45 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 14 percent from last year's February.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (7,600 nights).
16,800 nights (+19.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,600 nights (-22.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 15,900 registered bed nights (-3.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 21,400 (+30.5 %) for foreigners in Imatra, in total 37,300 (+13.6 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay was 1.7 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Imatra, length of stay in February was on average 1.7 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+2.0 %).
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Imatra on average 1.9 nights (-7.6 %) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-9.8 %).
10,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 25 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 53.2 percent were domestic, and 46.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Imatra on average 1.9 nights (-0.13) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.14).

Trips by Russian travelers over the eastern border increased 36 percent
A total of 255,000 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.
The share of southeastern border stations was 91.5 percent.
