Registered bed nights increased 27 percent (April)

In April 2023, 8,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Inari Excl. Saariselkä (+27.3 %), of which 4,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 29 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 25 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 27 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (960 nights).

7,100 nights (+34.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,200 nights (-2.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 13,400 registered bed nights (+25.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 83,700 (+14.7 %) for foreigners in Inari Excl. Saariselkä, in total 97,000 (+16.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.5 percent (April)

Total of 1.5 million registered bed nights (-3.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (-7.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 261,000 nights (+20.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Inari Excl. Saariselkä out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 1.4 %.

Market share in Lapland 3.5 percent (April)

Total of 236,000 registered bed nights (-5.1 %) were recorded in Lapland, of which 190,000 nights (-12.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 46,400 nights (+42.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Inari Excl. Saariselkä out of total registered bed nights in Lapland was 3.5 %, out of domestic bed nights 2.5 % and foreign bed nights 7.7 %.

4,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (April)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 26 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 59.9 percent were domestic, and 40.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Inari Excl. Saariselkä on average 1.9 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.08).
