Registered bed nights increased seven percent (December 2019)

In December 2019, 26,200 bed nights were recorded in Inari Excl. Saariselkä (+6.6 %), of which 1,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 24,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased five percent and foreign bed nights increased seven percent. In total, bed nights increased seven percent from last year's December.

20,500 nights (+16.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,700 nights (-18.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 53,500 bed nights (-1.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 138,000 (+16.1 %) for foreigners in Inari Excl. Saariselkä, in total 191,000 (+10.6 %) nights.

Market share 1.5 percent (December 2019)

Total of 1.8 million bed nights (+0.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 986,000 nights (+2.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (-0.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Inari Excl. Saariselkä out of total bed nights was 1.5 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 3.1 %.

10,800 tourists arrived to accommodation (December 2019)

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 17 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 8.1 percent were domestic, and 91.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Inari Excl. Saariselkä on average 1.9 nights (+0.02) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.58).

17,100 air travelers

The airport received a total of 17,100 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased six percent.

Of local passengers, 19.2 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 80.8 %.

In addition, there were 18,100 passengers departing the airport (+1.5 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 35,200.
