Registered bed nights increased 29 percent
In January 2019, 22,300 bed nights were recorded in Inari Excl. Saariselkä (+29.2 %), of which 1,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 20,400 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 11 percent and foreign bed nights increased 31 percent. In total, bed nights increased 29 percent from last year's January.
16,000 nights (+41.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,300 nights (+6.1 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

7,500 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 13 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 13.8 percent were domestic, and 86.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Inari Excl. Saariselkä on average 1.8 nights (+0.18) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+0.39).

Total accommodation sales in January were 1.4 million euro (+295,000). The share of Airbnb and HomeAway was 13.7 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 1.2 million euro (+311,000) and non-registered sales 189,000 euro (-15,400).
