Registered bed nights increased four percent
In February 2020, 9,200 bed nights were recorded in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region (+4.4 %), of which 7,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased one percent and foreign bed nights increased 62 percent. In total, bed nights increased four percent from last year's February.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (440 nights).
3,700 nights (-18.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,500 nights (+29.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 14,500 bed nights (+9.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,400 (+60.7 %) for foreigners in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region, in total 17,900 (+16.7 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

4,200 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 90.8 percent were domestic, and 9.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region on average 2.1 nights (+0.17) and foreigners 3.3 nights (+1.3).

Registered accommodation sales in February were 410,000 euro (-7,900).
Registered January-February sales were 786,000 euro and they increased 71,200 euro from the previous year.
