In March 2018, 8,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region (-8.1 %), of which 7,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 10 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased eight percent from last year's March.
5,200 nights (-2.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,600 nights (-14.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 19,600 registered bed nights (-8.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,100 (-5.6 %) for foreigners in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region, in total 23,700 (-8.1 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region, length of stay in March was on average 2.0 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-0.6 %).
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region on average 1.9 nights (+0.8 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-1.0 %).
4,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.0 percent were domestic, and 10.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region on average 1.9 nights (-0.15) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.13).
