Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased one percent

In July 2019, 23,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region (+1.1 %), of which 17,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased less than one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased five percent. In total, registered bed nights increased one percent from last year's July.

18,500 nights (-4.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,200 nights (+27.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 69,400 registered bed nights (+2.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,800 (-10.8 %) for foreigners in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region, in total 83,100 (-0.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+5.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.5 million nights (+7.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 794,000 nights (-0.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay increased five percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. In Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region, length of stay in July was on average 2.5 nights and in Finland 1.8 nights (-1.6 %).

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region on average 2.2 nights (-3.7 %) and foreigners 4.4 nights (-6.0 %).

9,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.8 percent were domestic, and 14.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region on average 2.2 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 4.4 nights (+0.92).
