Registered bed nights increased 33 percent
In January 2020, 8,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region (+33.1 %), of which 6,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 26 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 60 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 33 percent from last year's January.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (1,600 nights).
2,900 nights (-10.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,800 nights (+75.1 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 15 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region, length of stay in January was on average 2.3 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-1.9 %).
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region on average 2.1 nights and foreigners 3.6 nights .
3,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 83.9 percent were domestic, and 16.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Inner Savonia And Varkaus Region on average 2.1 nights (+0.24) and foreigners 3.6 nights (+0.46).
