Registered bed nights increased 460 percent

In April 2021, 36,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Itä-Lappi (+460.4 %), of which 35,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 460 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 540 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 460 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Czech Republic (240 nights).

34,400 nights (+458.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,400 nights (+497.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 141,000 registered bed nights (+90.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,000 (-91.5 %) for foreigners in Itä-Lappi, in total 144,000 (+31.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 4.7 percent

Total of 780,000 registered bed nights (+310.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 727,000 nights (+319.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 53,100 nights (+216.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Itä-Lappi out of total registered bed nights was 4.7 % (+1.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.9 % and foreign bed nights 1.7 %.

6,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 1,100 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.0 percent were domestic, and 1.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Itä-Lappi on average 5.5 nights (-6.3) and foreigners 14 nights.

Registered accommodation sales in April were 1.1 million euro (+1.0 million).

Registered January-April sales were 4.7 million euro and they increased 1.2 million euro from the previous year.
