37,200 registered bed nights
In February 2019, 37,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Itä-Lappi (-3.6 %), of which 23,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 13,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 10 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased four percent from last year's February.
36,500 nights (+28.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 670 nights (-93.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 38,000 registered bed nights (-6.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 26,700 (-3.5 %) for foreigners in Itä-Lappi, in total 64,700 (-5.4 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay was 4.8 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. In Itä-Lappi, length of stay in February was on average 4.8 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-1.3 %).
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Itä-Lappi on average 4.9 nights (-2.1 %) and foreigners 4.8 nights (-6.0 %).
7,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 63.2 percent were domestic, and 36.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Itä-Lappi on average 4.9 nights (-0.15) and foreigners 4.8 nights (-0.26).
