In April 2022, 35,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Itä-Lappi (-2.4 %), of which 35,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 720 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased two percent from last year's April.
32,300 nights (-6.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,600 nights (+51.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 133,000 registered bed nights (-6.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 31,200 (+935.5 %) for foreigners in Itä-Lappi, in total 164,000 (+13.7 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay was 4.8 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Itä-Lappi, length of stay in April was on average 4.8 nights and in Finland 1.9 nights (-22.7 %).
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Itä-Lappi on average 4.8 nights (-12.6 %) and foreigners 5.4 nights (-57.0 %).
7,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.2 percent were domestic, and 1.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Itä-Lappi on average 4.8 nights (-0.79) and foreigners 5.4 nights (-8.6).
