Registered bed nights increased 64 percent (October)

In October 2020, 16,400 bed nights were recorded in Jämsä Region (+64.5 %), of which 16,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 380 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 78 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 61 percent. In total, bed nights increased 64 percent from last year's October.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Netherlands (170 nights).

12,000 nights (+62.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,400 nights (+68.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 153,000 bed nights (-1.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,500 (-39.9 %) for foreigners in Jämsä Region, in total 172,000 (-7.8 %) nights.

Market share 1.4 percent (October)

Total of 1.1 million bed nights (-32.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-14.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 79,700 nights (-81.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jämsä Region out of total bed nights was 1.4 % (+0.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

5,800 tourists arrived to accommodation (October)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 61 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 98.1 percent were domestic, and 1.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämsä Region on average 2.8 nights (+0.19) and foreigners 3.4 nights (-2.0).

Registered January-October sales were 4.7 million euro and they decreased 1.9 million euro from the previous year.
