24,500 registered bed nights

In December 2018, 24,500 bed nights were recorded in Jämsä Region (-11.1 %), of which 18,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 18 percent and foreign bed nights increased 18 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 11 percent from last year's December.

22,000 nights (-4.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,400 nights (-45.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 196,000 bed nights (+2.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 41,600 (+6.3 %) for foreigners in Jämsä Region, in total 238,000 (+2.9 %) nights.

Market share 1.4 percent

Total of 1.8 million bed nights (+3.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 967,000 nights (-0.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 789,000 nights (+7.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jämsä Region out of total bed nights was 1.4 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

7,400 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 14 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 82.5 percent were domestic, and 17.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämsä Region on average 3.0 nights (+0.05) and foreigners 4.9 nights (-0.58).

Registered accommodation sales in December were 847,000 euro (+20,800).

Registered January-December sales were 8.4 million euro and they increased 853,000 euro from the previous year.
