Registered bed nights increased 36 percent (August)

In August 2022, 22,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Jämsä (+35.7 %), of which 20,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 25 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 240 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 36 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (1,300 nights).

11,500 nights (+4.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 11,300 nights (+93.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 205,000 registered bed nights (+11.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 16,900 (+234.2 %) for foreigners in Jämsä, in total 222,000 (+17.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.3 million registered bed nights (+12.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (-2.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 560,000 nights (+114.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jämsä out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 18 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.6 percent were domestic, and 9.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämsä on average 2.9 nights (+0.36) and foreigners 4.0 nights (-0.78).

Total accommodation sales in August were 1.1 million euro (+386,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 31.3 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 745,000 euro (+297,000) and non-registered sales 339,000 euro (+88,900).

Total January-August sales were 9.8 million euro and they increased 1.2 million euro from the previous year.
