329,000 registered bed nights

In January 2018, 329,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Jämtland County (-6.2 %), of which 267,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 61,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased three percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased six percent from last year's January.

34,500 rooms (+23.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 22,100 rooms (+9.3 %) by business visitors.

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (+6.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.9 million nights (+5.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 773,000 nights (+9.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jämtland County out of total registered bed nights was 8.8 % (-1.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 9.1 % and foreign bed nights 8.0 %.

Length of stay was 5.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 13 percent compared to earlier year. In Jämtland County, length of stay in January was on average 5.9 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+2.2 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 5.6 nights and foreigners 7.5 nights .

56,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.2 percent were domestic, and 14.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 5.6 nights (-1.2) and foreigners 7.5 nights (+0.71).
