493,000 registered bed nights

In February 2019, 493,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Jämtland County (-0.1 %), of which 424,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 68,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased three percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 17 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased less than one percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (18,500 nights).

56,000 rooms (+30.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 29,600 rooms (+8.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 687,000 registered bed nights (+1.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 131,000 (-9.3 %) for foreigners in Jämtland County, in total 818,000 (-0.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.3 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.3 million nights (+3.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 954,000 nights (+0.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jämtland County out of total registered bed nights was 11.5 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 12.7 % and foreign bed nights 7.2 %.

Length of stay increased 13 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 13 percent compared to earlier year. In Jämtland County, length of stay in February was on average 7.3 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-1.2 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 7.5 nights (+9.3 %) and foreigners 6.4 nights (-12.2 %).

67,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.2 percent were domestic, and 15.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 7.5 nights (+1.1) and foreigners 6.4 nights (-0.94).
