Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased four percent

In May 2019, 82,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Jämtland County (+4.4 %), of which 65,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 17,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 13 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (10,200 nights).

11,300 rooms (+11.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 17,500 rooms (+14.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 1.4 million registered bed nights (+0.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 241,000 (-3.4 %) for foreigners in Jämtland County, in total 1.7 million (-0.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.3 million registered bed nights (+3.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.1 million nights (+6.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.3 million nights (-5.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jämtland County out of total registered bed nights was 1.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.3 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. In Jämtland County, length of stay in May was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-5.1 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 1.9 nights (+0.9 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-8.3 %).

42,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 79.0 percent were domestic, and 21.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 1.9 nights (-0.12) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.14).
