Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased seven percent

In September 2019, 129,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Jämtland County (+6.7 %), of which 108,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 21,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased three percent. In total, registered bed nights increased seven percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (11,500 nights).

26,800 rooms (+44.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 26,600 rooms (+40.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 2.1 million registered bed nights (+4.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 549,000 (-0.8 %) for foreigners in Jämtland County, in total 2.6 million (+3.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jämtland County out of total registered bed nights was 2.9 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.2 % and foreign bed nights 1.9 %.

Length of stay was 2.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Jämtland County, length of stay in September was on average 2.3 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-1.3 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 2.3 nights (-1.3 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-6.2 %).

57,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.6 percent were domestic, and 17.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 2.3 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.04).
