Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased seven percent

In October 2019, 86,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Jämtland County (+6.9 %), of which 68,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 17,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased six percent and registered foreign bed nights increased nine percent. In total, registered bed nights increased seven percent from last year's October.

17,700 rooms (+25.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 22,100 rooms (+19.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 2.1 million registered bed nights (+4.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 567,000 (-0.6 %) for foreigners in Jämtland County, in total 2.7 million (+3.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+3.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+5.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 936,000 nights (-2.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jämtland County out of total registered bed nights was 2.1 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.2 % and foreign bed nights 1.9 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Jämtland County, length of stay in October was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-0.5 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 2.1 nights (-1.3 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-5.9 %).

41,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 78.7 percent were domestic, and 21.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 2.1 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.07).
