242,000 registered bed nights

In December 2019, 242,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Jämtland County (-9.6 %), of which 214,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 28,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 17 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 10 percent from last year's December.

35,800 rooms (+9.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 20,100 rooms (+28.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 2.4 million registered bed nights (+2.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 617,000 (+1.0 %) for foreigners in Jämtland County, in total 3.0 million (+2.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.5 million registered bed nights (+0.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 764,000 nights (-2.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Jämtland County out of total registered bed nights was 7.0 % (-0.8 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 7.9 % and foreign bed nights 3.7 %.

Length of stay was 5.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Jämtland County, length of stay in December was on average 5.2 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (-2.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 5.2 nights (-1.7 %) and foreigners 4.7 nights (-3.3 %).

46,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.2 percent were domestic, and 12.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Jämtland County on average 5.2 nights (-0.26) and foreigners 4.7 nights (+1.5).
